Community Partner More Information

Becoming a Registered Georgia Gateway Community Partner
Registered Georgia Gateway Community Partners are shown on the Georgia Gateway Homepage as a resource for individuals needing help with using the online system. Registered Georgia Gateway Community Partners are listed by county of residence and agree to provide assistance with using the online system to anyone who requests the assistance. Registered Georgia Gateway Community Partners must assist with the transaction submission for ALL programs (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF and Child Care). There is no compensation for registration as a Georgia Gateway Community Partner. Registration as a Georgia Gateway Community Partner allows individuals, in this time of limited resources and increasing demand of DHS services, to benefit through a choice of access points in the community, therefore increasing participation and accessibility to benefits.
Registration as a Georgia Gateway Community Partner allows your organization to track and monitor data for the customers your employee's assist. This data includes but is not limited to, disposition of application and the number of transactions submitted. The transactions submitted from the Georgia Gateway Homepage by the applicant or recipient and the transactions submitted by registered Georgia Gateway Community Partners do not vary.
Registered Georgia Gateway Community Partners are organizations such as state, county and local government agencies, Department of Human Services (DHS) Agencies or Divisions, agencies contracted with DHS to provide direct community services to the citizens of Georgia, and charitable organizations. For the purposes of registering as a Georgia Gateway Community Partner, "Charitable Organization" is defined as any voluntary health, welfare or educational agency that is: (1) a private, self-governing, non-profit organization chartered or authorized to do business in the State of Georgia by the Office of the Secretary of State; (2) exempt from taxation; and (3) one to which contributions are authorized as deductible by Section 170 of the United States Internal Revenue Code, as amended. Note: Charitable Organizations must have a need for registration i.e. data is required for validation of contract, maintain grants, etc.
There are two types of Georgia Gateway Community Partners:
Assisted Service Sites - The Assisted Service Site employee provides individual assistance to the customer upon request with the submission of their Georgia Gateway application, renewal or change. Assisted Service Sites are organizations such as state, county and local government agencies, DHS Agencies or Divisions, agencies contracted with DHS to provide direct community services to the citizens of Georgia, and charitable organizations. Assisted Service Sites must be sponsored by an Umbrella Organization.
Umbrella Organization - In addition to the services provided by the Assisted Service Site, the Umbrella Organization registers the Assisted Service Sites. The Umbrella Organization may choose but is not required to register Assisted Service Sites. The Umbrella Organization is legally responsible for the usage and compliance with all requirements for agencies that are registered with their Umbrella Organization. Umbrella Organizations are organizations such as state, county and local government agencies, DHS Agencies or Divisions, and agencies contracted with DHS to provide direct community services to the citizens of Georgia.
